Ichabods
sign Wild to baseball letter of intent

Washburn coach Steve Anson announced that St. Marys High
SchoolÕs Randy Wild signed a letter of intent to play baseball for the
Ichabods next season.
Wild, a 6-2 205-pound right-handed pitcher and shortstop,
earned all-league honors three seasons and all-state honors two seasons
for the Bears in baseball.
Wild had 101 strikeouts and a 1.35 ERA on the mound,
while batting .596 with five home runs for the Bears during his senior
year in 2003. St. Marys finished 14-10 and reached the 3A State Tournament,
before losing to eventual state champion Baxter Springs in the quarterfinals
2-0.
He also was a three-year letter winner in basketball
and football at St. Marys, earning all-league and all-state honors on
the gridiron as a running back for the Bears as a senior and all-league
basketball honors as a junior.
Wild is the second player to sign in the spring recruiting
period for the Ichabods, who also added Silver LakeÕs Brian Martinek
to next yearÕs squad.
