Ichabod head football coach Craig Schurig has announced a seven additional
signees who will join the Ichabods in the fall. The additional student-athletes
join the 24 high school signees who signed national letter of intents
on Feb. 5.
Included in the seven new Ichabods is Blake Nichols, a 6-4, 260 pound
defensive lineman from Forgan, Okla. and Forgan High School, who is
transferring to Washburn from the University of Oklahoma. Nichols
redshirted last season for the Sooners.
Blake is a young man that has the physical abilities to contribute
right away, Schurig said.
At Forgan High School, he was a four-year all-district selection,
8-man all-star, all-conference and team captain. He was named the
team most valuable player two times.
On the basketball court he was an all-state selection once and a
two-time conference MVP and four-year all-conference selection.
