TOPEKA, Kan. - The Washburn Ichabods used a big fourth quarter to
pull away from Missouri-Rolla in a 49-24 homecoming win. The Ichabods
scored the 21 points in a 5:50 span in the fourth quarter for the
win.
The Ichabods opened up a 28-7 lead on a Trent Hearn touchdown run
and three Dustin Hickel touchdown passes, two to Sam Sissom on a pair
of 14-yard strikes and to Mike Odupitan on a 11-yard pass.
The Miners would come back and score 17 unanswered points to cut
the lead to 28-24 with 14:47 left in the game before the Ichabods
would roll up 21 straight points leading to the win.
Trent Hearn rushed for three touchdowns and a career-high 175 yards
on 29 carries with three touchdowns. Hickel finised with 168 yards
passing and three touchdowns. Sissom finished with 100 yards receiving
and two touchdowns. Morgan Dewey and Grant Gould each had 10 tackles
for the Ichabods.
Washburn will be back in action on next Saturday against Central
Missouri in Yager Stadium at 1 p.m.
