Washburn University's senior offensive lineman Matt Durler was a repeat selection on the College Division Academic All-District VII Team as selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).
Durler has started all 11 games for the Ichabods this season at center and helped the Ichabods to a 7-4 season and a 6-3 record, which placed Washburn in third place in the MIAA. He was named Washburn's Athletic Department's male scholar athlete of the year for 2003-04 and is currently taking graduate classes working on his MBA. He graduated last December with a business degree. He is a Dodge City, Kan. native.
There were 33 schools who nominated 126 student-athletes for the all-district ballot. Durler was one of five repeat choices from the 2003 first team.
The Ichabods are currently practicing for a Dec. 4 appearance in the Mineral Water Bowl in Excelsior Springs, Mo., against Northern State (S.D.). Game time is set for 1 p.m.
