TOPEKA - The Washburn Ichabods picked up their first win of the season with a 30-7 victory over Langston. The Ichabods evened their record to 1-1 and will now open MIAA play with arch-rival Emporia State on Sept. 4 at 1 p.m.
After forcing the Lions into a three-and-out the first drive of the game, the Ichabods drove 68 yards in six plays to take an early lead they would not let go of. Ra'Shawn Moseley capped the drive with a 24-yard touchdown run.
The Ichabods would score the next 23 points of the game before Langston would get on the scoreboard with 5:32 remaining. The Ichabod scoring drives were of 19, 80 and 30 yards.
