OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The Washburn Ichabods were picked sixth in the 2004 MIAA Coaches Poll that was announced this afternoon at the MIAA Football Media Day in Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium. The Ichabods finished the 2003 season 5-6 overall and 3-6 in conference play.
The Ichabods return 15 starters from last season's squad and will open the season on Aug. 28 against Colorado School of Mines at 1 p.m.
Pittsburg State was tabbed as the coaches pick to win the MIAA with 75 total points and four first-place votes. They were followed by Central Missouri with 72 points and three first-place votes.

points were awarded on a 9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis and coaches could not vote for their own school.
