PITTSBURG, Kan. - The Washburn Ichabods fell 70-14 to No. 3 ranked Pittsburg State. The Gorillas scored 22 points in the first quarter, 21 in the second and 20 in the third as they reached at least 70 points for the second straight game. The Ichabods will now face Southwest Baptist next weekend at home in Yager Stadium at 1 p.m.

The Ichabods got on the board in the second quarter as Jordan Brill hooked up with Jeff Scott for a 8-yard touchdown pass. Scott had a career-high seven receptions for 64 yards.

The Gorillas responded by rolling off 35 straight points to push the score to 63-7.

Cason Lehman added the Ichabods final touchdown as he scored on a 34-yard pass reception from Dustin Hickel capping a 6-play, 93-yard drive.

The Gorillas would add one more socre to make the final tally 70-14.

Pitt State also piled up more than 700 yards of offense for a second straight game after accumulating an MIAA record 809 total yards in a 91-27 win over Missouri-Rolla last Saturday.

The Ichabods compiled 420 yards of total offense in the game compared to 713 for the Gorillas.

Brill, making his first collegiate start, was 18 of 32 for 167 yards and one touchdown. Ra'Shawn Mosley had 21 carries for 90 yards. Lehman, Sam Sissom and Mike Odupitan each had four catches.

The Gorillas had three rushers go over 100 yards in the game. Starting tailback Germaine Race had 12 carries for 186 yards and three touchdowns, starting quarterback Neal Philpot had 14 carries for 166 yards and reserve quarterback Andy Majors had nine carries for 128 yards and two touchdown scores.
