Washburn head football coach Craig Schurig has announced that Brian
Miller, offensive coordinator at the University of Minnesota-Crookston,
has been named offensive coordinator for the Ichabods.
Brian will bring knowledge of the West Coast Offense to our
system, Schurig said. He has been a proven offensive coordinator
and we are excited to incorporate our new offensive philosophy during
spring practice and next fall.
Miller, a native of Golden, Colo., was the offensive coordinator
at Minnesota-Crookston since 1996. He also served as the Program Manager
of the Sport and Recreation Management degree.
His strong academic background will help our student athletes
achieve their highest potential in the classroom, Schurig said.
Coach Miller spent five seasons as the offensive coordinator with
the Golden Eagles. While at UMC, he coached a three-time all-American
runningback.
Prior to coming to UMC, Miller coached for the Northern State Wolves,
where he was special teams coordinator, and coached defensive line
and running backs, each for a season.
Coach Miller has attained a BA from Hastings College in Nebraska,
and a MS from St. Cloud State. Miller was also an instructor and program
manager in the Sport & Recreation Management degree program.
He and his wife Michelle reside in Crookston with their two sons:
Matt and Alex, and daughter Bailey.
