The Washburn Ichabods were picked ninth in the MIAA's preseason coaches
poll on media day in Kansas City.
The Ichabods, under first-year head coach Craig Schurig, received
18 points finishing above Missouri-Rolla who finished 10th in the
poll with nine points.
Defending MIAA Champions, Pittsburg State was tabbed as the team
to beat with eight first place votes and 80 points. Northwest Missouri
and Central Missouri each received one first place vote and finished
tied for second with 69 points.
Missouri Western and Truman tied for fourth place with 53 points.
Emporia State was picked sixth with 37 points followed by Southwest
Baptist and Missouri Southern.
The Ichabods start practice on the field on Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
after players report for testing on Thursday the 8th and meetings
on Friday the 9th.
