Schembri named second team all-region

Sophomore linebacker Larry Schembri has been named to the D2football.com preseason second team all-region squad. Schembri is one of five captains for the Ichabods this season and was named the team’s defensive player of the year as a freshman and one of only three sophomore named to D2football.com’s first or second preseason all-region team.

The 6-1, 240 pound linebacker from Flowermound, Texas led the Ichabods in tackles and finished ninth in the MIAA with 90 tackles, including 44 solo stops starting all 11 games. His 15 tackles for 57 yards for loss also led the team and was third in the MIAA.
