Ichabods come up short at MIAA Championship Golf Tournament

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - The Washburn Ichabod golf team finished 9-shots off the pace at the MIAA Championship golf tournament at the Country Club of Blue Springs (April 18). The Ichabods finished in second place after carding a team score of 886, behind Tournament and MIAA Champion Missouri Western, who had a team total of 886. The Ichabods were looking for their fourth straight MIAA title.
The Ichabods were led by senior Jeremiah Nelson and Matt Ewald, who tied for third with a 4-over 220. Junior Taylor Dunham finished in a tie for eighth with a 224 and senior Matt Warnock tied for 10th after recording a 225. Sophomore Ryan Deutsch tied for 12th with a 226. Sophomore John Robbins tied for eighth playing as an individual. The Ichabods will now head to the NCAA Division II Central Regional, which takes place May 1-3 at Prairie Bluff Golf Club in Joliet, Ill. The Ichabods are the three-time defending NCAA Central Regional Champions.
