Ichabods finish seventh in first tournament of the season

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The Washburn Ichabod golf team opened the 2006-07 season by tying for seventh place at the Kiawah Island Invitational at Cougar Point Golf Course.
After the first day of action, Washburn was
in third place after shooting a combined 6-over 294 led by Ryan Deutsch's 1-under 71.
During the second day, the Ichabods' scored jumped 20-strokes to a 26-over 314.
The event was won by Armstrong Atlantic who was 8-over for the two-day event.
Deutsch led the Ichabods with a 3-over 147 and a ninth place finish. Taylor Dunham was 8-over carding a 152 and John Robbins tied for 28th with a 9-over 153.
The Ichabods will be in action again Sept. 18-19 at the Southwest Baptist Bearcat Invitational at Silo Ridge Golf Club in Bolivar, Mo. It will be the first MIAA match of the season.
