| Ichabods defend Northeastern State Tournament Title

MUSKOGEE, OKLA. - The Washburn Ichabods won their second straight golf
tournament with an 8-stroke win over host Northeastern State (Okla.).
The Ichabods also defended their title from a year ago at the NSU
Tournament. Ryan Deutsch led the Ichabods with a second place finish
carding a 2-under 211 for the 54-hole event. The teams played 36 holes
on Monday and played the third round today. Taylor Dunham finished in
fifth with a 3-over 216 followed by Matt Ewald in a tie for 12th (6-over
219), John Robbins (7-over 220) finished in a tie for 15th and and Sam Wempe tied for 54th after shooting a 20-over 233.
John Robbins recorded a hole in one during the first day's action on hole No. 12 - a 187 yards with a 7 irons par 3 that hit two feet behind the cup and spun back in.
The
Ichabods will be back in action Oct. 2-3 at the Drury Inn/Deerfield
Classic at Hickory Hills and Highland Springs Country Club in
Springfield, Mo. The Ichabods tied for first last season at the Drury
event with Central Oklahoma.
