| Ichabods finish 11th in opening tournament of spring season

San Juan Capistrano, Calif. -- The No. 16 Ichabod golf team had their four-tournament winning streak come to an end in the spring opener as they placed 11th at the 57th SoCal Intercollegiate Championships at Marbella Country Club.
The Ichabods finished with a three-round total of 906 (+66). West Florida won the team title with an 838 total. Barry (865), St. Edward’s (871), Sonoma State (872) finished two through five. Chico State and Western New Mexico tied for 5th in the 15 team event. UCSD was led by Billy Olsen with a six-place finish with a 213 total. Noah Moss was the next best Triton finisher with a 226 total in 34th place. The individual title was won in a playoff by Jarin Todd of Sonoma State. Todd tied with West Florida’s Leonardo Di Marino and Todd won on the first playoff hole.
Ryan Deutsch led the Ichabods with a +11 over score of 221 tying him for 25th place overall. Matt Ewald was 30th after carding a 224, +14 over.
The Ichabods will be back in action March 10-11 at the Branson Creek Invitiational. It will be the first of two tournaments played in Branson for the Ichabods as the MIAA Championships April 23-24.
