Ichabods
in 18th at national tournament

DELAND, Fla- The Washburn Ichabod golf team fired a 323 to finish in 18th place after day one at the NCAA Division II National Tournament Wednesday at Victoria Hills Golf Club.
Sophomore Matt Warnock (Liberty, Mo.) led Washburn with a 79, while Matt Johnston (Grantville, Kan.) fired an 80 and Paul Resner (Emporia, Kan.) shot 81. Chris McGown (Mound City, Kan.) and Garrett Donovan (Rossville, Kan.) each carded 83s.
The Ichabods, who won the MIAA team title and
the Central Regional title, are participating in the NCAA Division II
national tournament for the second straight time. The Ichabods finished 16th in the national tournament at Sunriver, Ore. in 2003.
