Ichabods in 17th at national tournament

DELAND, Fla- The Washburn golf team fired a 306 to move into 17th place at 629 after two rounds at the NCAA Division II National Tournament Thursday at Victoria Hills Golf Club.

Sophomore Matt Warnock (Liberty, Mo.) led Washburn with an even-par 72 for a 151 total and is in a tie for 24th place individually, while Matt Johnston (Grantville, Kan.) fired a 74 for a 154 total to move into a tie for 48th. Paul Resner (Emporia, Kan.) shot 78 to finish with a 159 total. Garrett Donovan (Rossville, Kan.) and Chris McGown (Mound City, Kan.) are at 165 and 166 respectively after two days.

The Ichabods, who won the MIAA team title and the Central Regional title, are participating in the NCAA Division II national tournament for the second straight time. The Ichabods finished 16th in the national tournament at
Sunriver, Ore. in 2003.
