McGown named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America First Team

Topeka -- Ichabod senior golfer Chris McGown was named to the 2004-05 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America College Division Men’s At-Large team that was recently released.
McGown is the first Washburn athlete since football player Eric Taylor received second team Academic All-America honors following the 2003 season. McGown is the first Washburn athlete since softball player Jenny Klamm to receive first team Academic All-America honors in 1993.
McGown was the Ichabod golf team’s Most Valuable Player after leading the Ichabods with a 74.6 stroke average.
