Ichabods win Central Region title
Warnock takes individual title

BOLIVAR, Mo. — The Washburn Ichabod golf team fired a 9-over 296 for a 54-hole total of 884 (+20) to top the field by 27 strokes at the NCAA Division II Central Regional at Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club Wednesday afternoon.

Freshman Matt Warnock (Liberty, Mo.) won the individual title by shooting 73 to finish at 2-under 214 for three rounds. Senior Derek Dultmeier (Topeka) fired a 72 to finish second individually at 221. Sophomore Paul Resner (Emporia) and Garrett Donovan (Rossville) finished at 225 and 226 for the tournament to tie for fifth and ninth place respectively. Senior Cam Hubbard (Topeka) tied for 19th with a 232 for the regional.

The Ichabods, who captured the school's first NCAA Division II Central Regional title, earned their first-ever trip to the NCAA Division II national tournament May 20-23 in Sunriver, Ore. The Ichabods entered the tournament as the region's top seed after winning the MIAA title last week.
