Washburn places fourth at WU Invitational - Kyle Brandt places 2nd

Drury University won the Washburn Invitational at the Topeka Country Club over nine other squads with a score of 638 fighting off a brisk wind.

The Invitational, originally scheduled for two days with 18 holes each day was changed to all 36 holes today with a lunch break in between rounds.

Drury’s Loel Fischer won the event with a 12-over par 154 (78-76) outdueling Washburn’s Kyle Brandt (76-78) in a playoff on the first hole. Fischer parred the first hole.

Aaron Clark from Drury finished third with a 15-over 157 (82-75).

The MIAA portion of the invitational was shared with Truman State and Central Missouri State tying at 652, finishing in an overall tie for second. Washburn finished fourth with a 658 two-round total.
