Action resumes with MIAA matchup at No. 3 Central Missouri Saturday
Washburn will return to the court Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at third-ranked Central Missouri after a nine-day holiday break. The game will be the second MIAA contest of the season after both schools opened conference play with wins earlier in the month. It will also be Washburn’s sixth away game (eight counting neutral games) of the season and fourth straight game away from home.
The Ichabods kept their record even at 5-5 after splitting a pair of games last week at the Lynn Holiday Classic. They lost to host LU, 68-61, and then defeated Barry, 63-47. Central Missouri is 10-0 (1-0 MIAA) for the first time since 1995-96 after a 103-67 win over Sterling last week. The Mules, picked first in the MIAA preseason poll, are No. 3 in the nation in the National Association of Basketball Coaches national poll released December 19.
Following the game at UCM the Ichabods will return home January 3 to host Emporia State in a 7:30 p.m. game at Lee Arena.
