Trip to Missouri Southern up next for Ichabods
Washburn will look to snap a three-game loosing streak with a 7:30 p.m. contest Wednesday at Missouri Southern State. The Ichabods are 6-11 and 2-6 in the MIAA after scoring a season-high 79 points against Pittsburg State but falling to the Gorillas 84-79 Saturday. The Lions are 7-9 and 2-5 in the conference and will play at Southwest Baptist Monday to make up January 13’s game that was postponed due to winter weather.
The Ichabods will be looking to win on the road for the second time this season against the only team they defeated in a road contest last year. The Lions will try and avoid losing at home to WU for the fifth straight season.
Senior forward Frank Phifer leads Washburn with 14. 9 points a game after coming off the bench Saturday for 22. MSSU’s junior forward Deonte Cox leads the Lions with 12.5 points a game.
WU will continue its road trip Saturday at Missouri Western in a 7:30 p.m. game.
