Ichabods hosting Missouri Southern State Thursday looking to start a winning streak
After snapping a four-game losing streak least week the Ichabods will return to Lee Arena Thursday looking to start a winning streak when they host Missouri Southern State in a 7:30 p.m. game. Washburn improved to 7-12 and 3-7 in the MIAA with a 77-62 win at Missouri Western State Saturday while the Lions dropped to 8-11 and 3-7 in the conference with a loss at Truman. Both teams enter the week tied for sixth in the league standings.
These two teams met last Wednesday with the Ichabods losing on the road, 68-57. Senior forward Frank Phifer led the ’Bods with 18 points but after 19 lead changes the Lions came out on top. MSSU was led by Stanley Titsworth and TJ Britton with 14 points each.
Following Thursday’s game, the Ichabods will head on the road to play five of their final seven games away from home. A trip to Pittsburg State Saturday will begin that stretch.
