Third game in six days brings Ichabods to SBU
Washburn will look to break a two-game losing streak when it travels to Southwest Baptist Tuesday night for a 7:45 game. The Ichabods are 7-14 overall and tied for eighth in the MIAA at 3-9 after a 72-61 loss at Pittsburg State. SBU is 12-9 and fifth in the conference at 6-6 after falling 95-75 at Truman.
SBU’s Jason Jemison is fourth in the conference scoring 17.0 points a game while Washburn’s Frank Phifer is seventh averaging 15.2 a game. The Bearcats lead the MIAA averaging 9.7 3-pointers a game while Washburn is fourth in the conference allowing teams to shoot just 33 percent from behind the line.
The Ichabods are in the middle of a stretch in which they play seven of their last 10 games on the road. They will return home Saturday to host Truman and then play three straight on the road before wrapping up the regular season on the road.
