MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll for tennis announced
(May 10) OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- The Washburn Lady Blues and Ichabod tennis teams had three placed on the Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll that was announced today. Lady Blues senior Caitlin Day (history), Julie Huyberechts (art) and Ichabod junior Tyler Kinder (mathematics). Student-athletes are named to the list under the following criteria: 1.) The student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 or better at the qualifying institution; 2.) The student-athlete must have at least two terms of attendance at the member school, excluding summer sessions; 3.) The student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior in athletic eligibility; 4.) Student-athletes inactive due to redshirt or hardship qualification are not eligible.

All-MIAA Tennis Team Announced
(April 27) OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod tennis team placed two netters on the All-MIAA Second team in Rick Vleeshouwers at No. 1 sinlges and Nathan Martin at No. 4 singles. Rutger Vliegenberg was named Honorable mention at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles along with partner Rick Vleeshouwers. Tyler Kinder was named honorable mention at No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles with Blake Edwards. Edwards was also honorable mention at No. 6 singles. Nathan Martin and Andrew Plum were also honorable mention at No. 2 doubles.

Ichabods netter top Johnson County in MIAA tune-up
(April 18) Kansas City, Mo . - The Washburn Ichabod tennis team, ranked No. 6 in the region, topped Johnson County 7-2 on Monday to improve their record to 9-8 on the season. The Ichabods are off until the start of the MIAA Tournament, where they will be the No. 3 seed and they will take on the No. 2 seeded Northwest Missouri Bearcats on Saturday morning. (April 9) The Washburn Ichabod tennis team, ranked No. 6 in the region, fell to No. 28 ranked Southwest Baptist 8-1. Rutger Vliegenberg picked up the lone win for the Ichabods aat No. 2 singles. Ichabods spotless in weekend action
(March 5) TOPEKA - The Washburn Ichabod tennis team lifted their record to 6-1 after winning three matches over the weekend. The Ichabods topped Winona State 5-2, then beat Metro State 6-1 before ending play with an 8-1 win over Colorado State-Pueblo. The Ichabods will be back in action on Tuesday against Baker. Ichabod netters compete at ITA Midwest Regional
(Sept. 26) Maryville, Mo. - The Washburn Ichabod tennis squad competed at the ITA Midwest Regional Tournament over the weekend in Maryville, Mo. The doubles duo of Tyler Kinder and Brad Johnston reached the semifinals before falling. In singles play, Rutger Vliegenberg reached the quarterfinals before losing. Lady Blues, Ichabod tennis teams adds signees (May 19)
Washburn head tennis coach Jennifer Hastert has announced the signing of two Ichabod and two Lady Blues netters who will join the teams in the fall. The Lady Blues are coming off their first MIAA Title since 2000 and the Ichabods fell in the championship match of the MIAA Tournament. Both teams just returned from the NCAA National Tournament in Orlando, Florida which the teams reached the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history.
