Ichabods sign former Topeka High product

Washburn tennis coach Jennifer Hastert announced the signing of Ryan Peterson to a national letter of intent Wednesday morning.

Peterson, who will be a junior for the Ichabods next fall, is in his sophomore season for the Johnson County Community College Cavaliers, playing the No. 1 doubles and No. 5 singles spots.

Peterson played his high school tennis at Topeka High, where he graduated in 1999. He earned all-city and all-state honors for the Trojans and was I-70 League champion two straight years. Peterson finished in the top 10 in the state and was third in regionals for the 6A Trojans.

Peterson also participated on Topeka HighÕs basketball and soccer teams.
