Lady Blues receive all-region honors

For the first time in school history, the Lady Blues soccer team has placed members on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Central Region Team. Senior defender Lora Westling and freshman forward Jessica Mainz were named second team all-region and Lauren Schwindt received third team all-region honors.

Westling started all 20 games for the Lady Blues had had one assist and eight shots on goal. Mainz set numberous school records including 13 goals in a single-season and tied for first in the MIAA with 30 points and 1.5 per game. Her goals per game were second in the MIAA.

Schwindt was third on the team with three goals and set a new school single-season assist record with seven including three against Minnesota-Crookston on Aug. 28.

The Lady Blues finished the season with a 11-5-4 record and a second place tie in the MIAA with a 7-3-4 record.
