Lady Blues' Schwindt game-winner in 1-0 win over Central Missouri

WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The Lady Blues' Lauren Schwindt scored the lone goal
in a 1-0 win over Central Missouri. The win lifted the No. 15 ranked
Lady Blues to 14-1-2 and 9-1-1 in the MIAA while the Jennies fell to
9-4-2 and 4-4-2 in conference play.
In a key regional and MIAA match-up, Schwindt's goal at the 57:29 mark
of the match on an assist from Jolene Silovsky put the Lady Blues in
front for good. it was Schwindt's third goal of the season and it
snapped a streak of five straight games without a point for the senior
midfielder.
The Jennies outshot the Lady Blues 11 to 6, but Washburn senior
goalkeeper Jenna Hatlestad picked up her school single-season record
eighth shutout of the season with five saves. It was her fourth straight
shutout this season.
The win gives the Lady Blues 28 points in the MIAA standings, seven
points ahead of No. 24 Missouri Southern who has 21. This weekend, the
Lady Blues will wrap up a seven-match road trip at Truman, who is 4-3-2
in the MIAA and in fifth place with 14 points. The Bulldogs are the
seven-time defending MIAA champions, having won the MIAA crown every year.
After the Lady Blues take on Truman on Oct. 21, the Lady Blues will
return home to face Southwest Baptist at 3 p.m. on Oct. 27 and then wrap
up the regular season on Oct. 29 against Missouri Southern, where 10
Lady Blues will be honored in senior day festivities.
