Lady Blues remain unbeaten with 1-0 win over Northwest Missouri

No. 16 Washburn improved its record to 9-0-1 with a 1-0 win Saturday afternoon over Northwest Missouri State at Yager Stadium. The Lady Blues also kept the top spot in the MIAA with a 4-0-0 record. Keeley Lambeth scored her first goal of the year seven minutes into the match and the Lady Blues defense held on the rest of the way for the victory.

Washburn’s Jolene Silovsky played a quick and short corner kick to Lauren Schwindt who served it into the box. Lambeth corralled it and sent it into the back of the net from 15 feet out at 7:03.

The Lady Blues kept the Bearcats from attempting a shot in the first half and ended up allowing just three. WU goalkeeper Jenna Hatlestad stopped the only Northwest shot on goal late in the game.

Washburn held a 12-3 advantage on shots and 10-2 corner kick advantage. Ashley Taylor led the Lady Blues with four shots.
