Lady Blues place 3 on Daktronics 1st team all-region squad

TOPEKA- The MIAA Champion Washburn Lady Blues placed three members on the 2006 Daktronics All-Central Regional First Team that was announced today. Senior goalie Jenna Hatlestad, senior midfielder Lauren Schwindt and sophomore forward Jessica Mainz were all honored.
This is the first season for Daktronics sponsoring the squad. All three will advance to the national ballot as voted on by sports information directors across the country.
Washburn also had two named to the second team in sophomore defender Lisa Fahey and freshman midfielder Ashley Taylor.
This season, the Lady Blues finished the year with a 15-1-6 overall record winning the MIAA Championship and reached the NCAA Central Regional before falling in penalty kicks.
