Mainz becomes 1st Lady Blue to receive All-America Honors

Topeka, Kan. – Washburn sophomore forward Jessica Mainz became the first Lady Blue to receive All-American honors as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America named her to the second team that was announced today.
Mainz, who was named the Most Valuable Player in the MIAA, led the conference in scoring with 13 goals and 30 points.
In two seasons at Washburn, Mainz has scored 26 goals and recorded 60 points. She helped led the Lady Blues to a 15-1-6 overall record and a 10-1-3 mark in the MIAA en route to the team’s first MIAA Championship and a No. 12 final national ranking.
The Lady Blues also reached the NCAA Central Regional for the first time in the program's four-year history before falling in penalty kicks in the regional finals.
