Lisa Fahey named 3rd team Academic All-American by ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA

TOPEKA, Kan. – Washburn sophomore defender Lisa Fahey (Parkville, Mo.) was the only player out of the MIAA to be named to any of the 2006 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® teams that were announced today. Fahey was selected as a Third Team All-American pick. Fahey has a 4.00 GPA in business. The three teams in each of the college and university divisions were voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Earlier this month, Fahey was named to the 2006 Daktronics All-Central Regional second team and honorable mention all-MIAA.
This season, the Lady Blues finished the year with a 15-1-6 overall record winning the MIAA Championship and reached the NCAA Central Regional before falling in penalty kicks.
