Kingsville, Texas - The Lady Blues went 1-1 for the second straight day topping Emporia State 6-5 and then falling to Midwestern State 2-0. For the weekend, the Lady Blues went 2-2, but both wins were regional wins used for consideration of postseason play.
Against the Hornets, the Lady Blues jumped on the board early as Ashley Webb singled on the first pitch of the game then promptly stole second base. She was driven in by Dara Clouse. After the Hornets tied the score in the bottom of the second, the Lady Blues picked up two runs on pitcher Joanne Fluker's one-out single scoring Webb and Tiffany Whitt.
The Lady Blues held the lead until ESU scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 5-3 lead but the Lady Blues scored three more in the top of the seventh for the 6-5 win. Webb picked up her third hit of the morning and then Molly Gleisberg singled and moved to second on Whitt's double which scored both Webb and Gleisberg. Clouse picked up the go-ahead RBI scoring Whitt.
Erin Pierce came in and pitched two innings of shutout ball to pick up the win .
Midwestern State completed a perfect weekend topping the Lady Blues 2-0. The Lady Blues managed three hits. Pierce pitched the complete game allowing one earned run and scattering three hits.
