JEFFERSON CITY, MO - The Washburn
Lady Blues improved to 33-8 with a doubleheader sweep on the road against
the Lincoln Blue Tigers winning the first game 5-0 and exploding in
the second game for a 11-0 win.
In the first game, Katie Gregg allowed five hits while
striking out eight to pick up her 12th win of the season. Gregg has
now pitched 21 consecutive scoreless innings. Kristen Cheney was 3-4
with two doubles with an RBI and one run scored. Keri Tanner and Crystal
Wittlinger hit back-to-back HR's in the fourth inning.
In the second game, Holly Reichel drove in four runs while
going 2-3. Cheney continued her hot hitting going 3-4 with three runs
scored. Dawn Nachbar was 1-2 with two runs scored and three RBI. Ashley
Perkins picked up her 12th win of the season with the complete-game
shutout striking out five and walking two scattering two hits.
The Lady Blues will now travel to Joplin, Mo. on Tuesday
to take on defending MIAA champions Missouri Southern in a doubleheader.
