WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The No. 15 Washburn Lady Blues fell 30-24, 30-17 30-27 to No. 9 Central Missouri State in the CMSU Multipurpose Building Tuesday night. Washburn fell to 17-2 and 5-2 in the MIAA, while CMSU moved into sole possession of second in the MIAA at 6-1 and 14-3 overall.

The Lady Blues took a 21-18 lead in the opening game, before CMSU rallied to score 12 of the next 15 points for the victory and hit .286 in the game. WU hit only .113 in the game.

Washburn followed with a dismal .021 hitting percentage in game two's loss, before hitting .308 in game three to stay competitive. Washburn led 22-20 in game three before CMSU rallied and scored the final three points of the match. The Jennies hit .404 in game three and .312 for the match.

Emily Foster kept the Lady Blues in the match by hitting .500 with a career-high 24 kills with only three errors in 42 attempts. Ashley Smith had 38 assists and a career-high 15 digs.

Elyse Mohme led CMSU with 19 kills, while Audrey Jensen added 10 kills. Katie Tarka had a team-high 25 digs.

Washburn is back in action 7 p.m. Saturday in Lee Arena against arch-rival Emporia State.
