Nov. 3, 2004 - The No. 16 Washburn Lady Blues volleyball earned the No. 3 seed in the MIAA Postseason Volleyball tournament Nov. 9-13 at MIAA campus sites. The Lady Blues will host No. 6 seed Missouri Southern 7 p.m. Tuesday night in the opening round. The winner will travel to Central Missouri State 7 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 9) in the semifinals. Tickets for Tuesday night's first round match are $3 for adults and $1 for students (college age and younger).
Washburn, which improved to 27-5 overall after defeating Drury last night, finished third in the MIAA regular season with a 12-4 conference record. The Lady Blues have won four straight matches heading into the postseason tournament.
The winner of the MIAA Tournament earns an automatic berth to the NCAA South Central Region Tournament Nov. 18-20 at a site to be determined. No. 3 Truman State, which is 30-0 and the region's top ranked team, will likely host the regional in Kirksville, Mo.
