TOPEKA - The No. 17 Washburn Lady Blues topped No. 18 Pittsburg State 30-23, 30-26, 30-21 in Lee Arena Saturday morning. Washburn improved to 17-1 and 5-1 in the MIAA.

Dani McHenry led the Lady Blues with 17 kills, while Emily Foster and Katie Brandt added 16 and 14 kills respectively. Ashley Smith had 49 assists and four kills in six attempts. Foster led Washburn with 18 digs, while Wendy Kobbeman added 13 digs.

The Lady Blues hit .305 as a team, including .333 in game three, while Pittsburg State hit .141 for the match.

Washburn will hit the road Tuesday and travel to Warrensburg, Mo. to take on No. 10 Central Missouri State at 7 p.m.
