TOPEKA - The No. 17 Washburn Lady Blues topped Southwest Baptist 30-19, 30-22, 30-17 in Lee Arena Friday night. Washburn improved to 16-1 and 4-1 in the MIAA.

The Lady Blues hit .343 in game one to cruise to a win. Emily Foster had six of her match-high 16 kills in the first game, while Ashley Smith had 14 assists and two aces.

Foster added seven more kills and eight digs to lead Washburn in a game two victory, before WU finished the sweep in game three.

Foster's 16 kills led Washburn, while Katie Brandt had 13 kills and Dani McHenry 10 kills. Foster and Smith each had 12 digs, while Smith finished with 42 assists.

Washburn is back in action 11 a.m. Saturday against No. 18 Pittsburg State in Lee Arena.
