CONWAY, Ark. - The Washburn volleyball team improved to 6-0 with two sweeps over Southern Arkansas 30-15, 30-16, 30-7 and Alabama-Huntsville 30-25, 30-19, 30-22 in the Central Arkansas Invitational Friday.
Senior Emily Foster led Washburn with 10 kills against Southern Arkansas, while senior Dani McHenry led the way with 16 kills against Alabama-Huntsville. Senior Katie Brandt had 18 kills and hit .548 in the two matches, including 12 kills against UAH. Wendy Kobbeman had 27 digs in the matches, while Julie Sackman had 47 assists.
Washburn concludes the tournament Saturday with two matches against West Alabama at 9 a.m. and against host Central Arkansas at 1 p.m. The Lady Blues are 6-0 for the third straight season under Chris Herron and are looking to go 8-0 for the first time in school history.
