Lady Blues improve to 12-0

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Washburn Lady Blues topped Albany State 30-20, 30-11, 30-28 in the West Florida Invitational Saturday. The win improved WU's school record start to 12-0 for the season.

Katie Brandt was named the tournament MVP, while Dani McHenry and Wendy Kobbeman were named to the all-tournament team.

Dani McHenry had a season-high 20 kills and added six digs, while Emily Foster finished with seven kills. Julie Sackman had 30 assists, while hitting .444 with four kills in nine attempts.

The Lady Blues return home for their MIAA opener 7 p.m. Wednesday night against Missouri Western in Lee Arena.
