The Washburn Lady Blues cruised past William Woods University 30-12 30-12, 30-23 in Lee Arena Thursday night.

Washburn, which hit .533 in the first game by tallying 17 kills with
only one error in 30 attempts, improved to 9-0 for the first time in
school history. Washburn hit .394 for the match with 50 kills and only
11 errors in 99 attempts.

Senior Dani McHenry led the way for the Lady Blues with 11 kills and
10 digs, while Katie Brandt and Emily Foster added nine and seven kills
respectively. Julie Sackman tallied 25 assists, while Wendy Kobbeman
added a team-high 11 digs.

Kristin Smith and Jessica Gabrian had six kills apiece for William Woods. Gabrian added 11 digs.

Washburn travels to Pensacola, Fla. Friday and Saturday for the West
Florida Invitational, before returning home for the MIAA opener 7 p.m.
Wednesday night against Missouri Western in Lee Arena.
