Nov. 29, 2004 - COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Washburn's Dani McHenry was named to the AVCA All-American third team, which was announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association Monday.

McHenry, a 6-0 senior outside hitter from Topeka, had 534 kills (4.34 kills/game), 429 digs (3.49 digs/game), and 90 blocks (0.73 blocks/game). Her 4.34 kills per game average broke the Washburn season record of 4.26 kill per game she had last season and her 534 kills rank third in Washburn single season history. She is fourth all-time in Washburn history with 1,491 career kills and seventh with 112 career aces in just three seasons.

McHenry was a three-time first team All-MIAA selection and two-time AVCA All-South Central Region selection. She was also Washburn's first AVCA All-American selection ever last year by earning honorable mention honors.

The No. 16 Lady Blues finished the season with a 29-7 record after a loss to No. 10 Central Missouri State in the South Central Region Tournament in Kirksville, Mo.
