The Washburn volleyball team dropped a spot to second in the latest NCAA Division II South Central Region rankings released Wednesday.
North Alabama was first, followed by Washburn and fellow MIAA squads Truman State, Central Missouri State and Emporia State.
Eight teams, including three automatic berths from the MIAA, Gulf South Conference and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference as well as five at-large teams will participate in the regional Nov. 17-19 at a site to be determined.
Washburn, which has won 20 straight matches to improve to 33-1 overall, hosts Emporia State 7 p.m. Thursday in the semifinals.
