The Lady Blues finished their own tournament with a 3-0 win over No. 13 North Alabama and then a 3-1 win over No. 12 Nebraska-Omaha Saturday. Ninth-ranked Washburn finished the Lady Blues Classic 4-0 and improved its record to 12-2.

Junior outside hitter Bailey Saal had 16 kills in each match. She hit .353 as the Lady Blues defeated UNA 30-16, 30-27, 30-28 in the first match. In the second match Sophomore middle hitter Stephanie Nitz had 17 kills and junior middle hitter Mandi Cox had 13 as Washburn won 30-28, 23-30, 30-27, 30-27.

The Lady Blues kept UNA to .019 hitting and had 14 team blocks. Sophomore Stephanie Nitz had six assisted blocks and sophomore setter Carolyn Raynes had three solo and three assisted blocks to lead the team. Raynes also led with 29 assists and junior libero Erica Cowhick led four players with double-figure digs with 19.

Against UNO Washburn was out hit .216 to .206 but managed to win behind .382 hitting from Nitz. Raynes added 25 assists, splitting the setting duties with freshman Kate Hampson who had 23. Saal had 22 digs.

The Lady Blues will take their perfect 1-0 MIAA record to Pittsburg State Wednesday for a 7 p.m. match and then host Missouri Southern Saturday at 4 p.m.
