The Lady Blues improved to 15-5 and 4-4 in the MIAA after winning its first 5-game conference match of the season with a 11-15, 15-11, 15-9, 15-3, 15-13 come-from-behind win. The win also moved the Lady Blues winning streak to nine matches. After losing the first two games, the Lady Blues stormed back to win the final three games. The Lady Blues were winless in five game matches in confernce play until the win over the Bearcats. Leading Washburn was Susan Crooks with 18 kills. Also in double-digit kills were Crystal Walker with 15, Jill Gassen with 13 and Becky Hanish with 10. Gassen and Walker each had eight blocks. Lindsey Kersting had 53 assists. The Lady Blues will be back in action this weekend at Truman State on Friday and against Florida Southern in Warrensburg on Saturday. The Lady Blues will be at home again on Tuesday, Oct. 10 against Missouri Southern at 7 p.m. |
