Sept. 9, 2000 The Lady Blues split a pair of MIAA matches over the weekend topping Southwest Baptist and falling to Truman State. On Friday, the Lady Blues beat SBU in four games - 15-8, 15-6, 7-15, 15-13. Jill Gassen led the Lady Blues with 14 kills and Crystal Walker had 13. Lindsey Kersting recorded 34 assists. The Lady Blues hit .305 for the match including a 12 kill, 1 error in 24 attack performance in the four game. On Saturday morning, Truman won 15-6, 11-15, 12-15, 15-4, 15-10. The Bulldogs were ranked No. 22 in the latest AVCA poll. Gassen had a match high 26 kills. Kersing dished out a new career high 58 assists. The Lady Blues are back in action on Wednesday night against the No. 16 ranked Central Missouri State University Jennies. The match starts at 7 p.m. |
