Blues drop two MIAA home matches

The Washburn Lady Blues fell 3-2 (30-28, 30-28, 23-30, 24-30, 15-7) to Pittsburg State Friday and 3-0 (30-15, 30-8, 30-18) to Truman State Saturday morning at Lee Arena.
The Lady Blues rallied to pull even against Pittsburg State, before suffering a five-game defeat. Jilll Gassen had 23 kills, five aces and 15 digs, while Susan Crooks had 20 kills and 14 digs.
Truman State topped Washburn with an outstanding .538 hitting percentage, as Cassy Felkerson connected on 23 kills in 31 attempts for the Bulldogs. Gassen led Washburn with six kills.Washburn is back in action 7 p.m. Wednesday night in Warrensburg, Mo. Wednesday night against nationally-ranked Central Missouri State.
