Blues top SBU on Senior Day

The Washburn Lady Blues topped Southwest Baptist 3-0 (30-19, 30-23, 30-18) in Lee Arena for Senior Day Saturday morning.
The Lady Blues came out hot and finished the match by hitting .297, including a .500 percentage by sophomore Susan Crooks (13-2-22). The team also tallied 18 blocks, including 10 (9 assist) by senior Becci Havlicek.
Jill Gassen, the school's all-time leader in solo blocks and kills, had five kills and five aces in her final match at Lee Arena.
The Lady Blues are back in action Tuesday night at Rockhurst.
