Lady Blues Student-Athletes Represent Washburn as Presidential Scholars

Freshmen Jill Gassen and Becci Havlicek, two Washburn Lady Blues Volleyball student-athletes, were named Presidential Scholars by the MIAA. Gassen was named to the Academic All-MIAA team on Friday.

In order to gain the Presidential Scholar distinction, the student-athlete must have a 4.00 cumulative GPA and have complete at least two semesters of school at the nominating school.

There were a total of 47 student-athletes who met the qualifications, an increase of 10 from last year.

The two student-athletes named from Washburn were:
