Washburn's Brooke Ubelaker was named Wilson/MIAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week by the conference Monday.

Ubelaker, a 5-foot-10 junior from Osborne, Kan., averaged 25 points, seven rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocks as she collected Most Valuable Player honors at the Missouri Southern Pizza Hut/Fairfield Inn Classic last weekend.

She was one point shy of a career high with 27 to go with five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal as the top-ranked Lady Blues defeated Central Oklahoma, 96-59, Friday night (Nov. 18).

That was followed with a 23-point, nine-rebound performance in a 92-40 defeat of Southwestern Oklahoma State the next day. Ubelaker was 5-of-8 from the three-point line in the game, and added three assists, three steals and two blocked shots.

For the weekend, she was 17-of-29 from the field (58.6 percent), 8-of-16 from the three-point arc (50.0 percent) and a perfect 8-of-8 at the foul line.

Ubelaker is a graduate of Osborne High School.
