Washburn tops Benedictine

TOPEKA- The No. 7 Washburn Lady Blues topped Benedictine College 92-56 in Lee Arena Tuesday night to improve to 6-0.

Benidictine tied the game at 6 four minutes into the game before WU jumpstarted its offense with a 14-0 run to make it 20-6 on Erin Menard's basket at 13:02 left in the opening half.

The Ravens pulled within 36-30 at 2:13, before the Lady Blues made a run to make it 43-32 at the half. The Ravens couldn't close the gap in the second half.

Carla Sintra recorded her first career rebound with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Brooke Ubelaker scored a team-high 13 points, while Lora Westling and Cindy Keeley added 12 and 10 for the Lady Blues.

The Lady Blues are back in action 7 p.m. Thursday in Lee Arena against Avila University.
